My Guestbook Entry: 2010 is the first year I have ever kept a journal, it was a Xmas present to myself and it is my little secret, no one else knows I have it. When I bought it I was very depressed, found it hard to cope with the thought of getting through each day, let alone aiming for future goals! Now I cannot believe how different I am, the journal helps me to focus on my spiritual journey, it is my little bit of meditation and time for myself everyday. I fill it with my innermost thoughts and feelings along with pictures and quotations that inspire me, ribbons, flowers, little gemstones etc. Anything really that makes me feel happy when I look at it. Can't wait to begin next years and see where that leads me!

I am familiar with the Journal by Cheryl Thiele, as I purchased the 2009 edition, however, did not fulfill my journeys on its pages. On January 7th, my daughter Che surprised me with a belated Christmas gift. I was filled with joy and almost cried when she gave me the present. This morning I read through the journal. I liked what I found. For many years I have written a journal and when I finished a journal or note book or pieces of paper, I destroyed it. I have often wondered why. Fear? Shame? Pride? I could not figure it out. After I read through the Sacred Journal, I was excited and told my daughter that destroying my journals was like self destruction and added that I do not want to destroy myself any more. She smiled and responded "Good!". With delight I mentioned to Che that the Sacred Journal approach reminded me of working on my collages. I really enjoy working on collages. I used to toss out my collages. I no longer destroy them. I look forward to getting started. Through my writing I intent to embrace my life for what it is and to share my bits of my life with the intention of becoming a better human being with an open heart. The gift from my daughter was a blessing and brought into my life at a time when I needed it the most.

2010 will be my fourth year using the journal. It has helped guide me in many ways. My Spiritual journey unfolds when I put pen to paper and I am often surprised by my words, it is almost as if someone is helping me move along to the next level of my journey. I create collages on some pages, I add photos, write special quotes and more. At the end of the year I have a lovely collection of personal notes, art work and ideas. I enjoy looking back at the year by re-reading each monthly calendar page. I then say a little prayer of gratitude as I "Tie Up" the old year and put the journal away. I always save a special piece of ribbon from a Christmas package and on New Year's Day I tie a bow on the journal and put it away in a special trunk. It is then time to bring out the new journal.... and begin the process once again. Each year this process gets better and better!

I was looking for a 2009 diary for myself. I found  a calendar stall in the local mall. I searched through and came across The Sacred Journey. I was drawn to it straight a way. I put it back it was more than I could afford, but I kept going back to it. I was annoyed it was all sealed up. I put it back again thinking if I can't see what I am buying I don't want it. You guessed it I was drawn to it again and although I shouldn't have I took the wrapping from it. Again I put it back I couldn't really afford it even though I thought how lovely it was, it was more than just a diary. The man running the stall came over really annoyed at what I had done and so was I. That made my mind up to buy it and I am so glad I did. On reading it I wanted the cards as well. According to the internet the people here were out of stock I contacted Cheryl Thiele to see if she could supply me with them. Whilst waiting for a reply I found that the Mind Body & Spirit shop I use had their last box . They are now in my possession I couldn't get there quick enough even though the shop is a fair drive from here.

Using the Sacred Journey Journal has been an absolute delight these past seven or eight years!  The Sacred Journey Cards were ordered several months ago, and I began using them right away to enhance my spiritual nature more.  I appreciate their focus!  I elected, first, to just draw a card each day using the 4 Directions, and in alpha order so as to "adjust" to each word and its focus.  Now, it is nearing the end of choice choosing.  Needless to say, I am looking forward to "intuitive" choice.  The 4 Directional Spread was chosen on January 1, 2009, and I am already seeing how this Spread has begun revealing itself to me.  For example:  South - Accountability.  I am a basketweaver and just now teaching a beginning class; thus being accountable to my class.  West - Saunter.  (oh, I loved this one!)  As I saunter around my class peering over their work.  North - Wisdom.  Beginning my class with prayer, thanksgiving and a grateful heart for creativity. East - Flow.  The ability to flow with the class and seeing their needs.  Just one small area of my life was evident to me in the use of the new Sacred Journey Cards.  Needless to say, I will be aware to "look for" these 4 directions in all of the areas of my life.

Last year I found this journal in Glenwood Springs, Colorado at the local bookstore. My friend was looking for a journal and after discovering this we decided to each get one, share the process because we are friends who live on either side of the Great Divide. We had met in Ireland recently on a celtic spirituality pilgrimage and continued our friendship after the travels were done. Continuing the journey in our journals.

It is early morning, still dark out, with a new day dawning.   As I come to the end of my 2008 journal, I realize just how very improtant it has been to me.  I am a lifelong journaller, but it was this journal that took me into my own personal no man's land.  In dealing with the last vestiges of my own darkness, as well as all the symbols and synchronicities of my life, I have suddenly become clear and purposeful.

I am so happy to receive my new 2009 journal.  I began using the Sacred Journey on Jan. 1, 2008... and what a year it has been.  A year of challenges, disappointments, strange detours, breakthroughs, hopeful encounters, and enough miracles to make this a very rewarding and growth filled year.  

Through it all, I looked forward each night before bedtime to write in my journal.  It became a touchstone for me... to review the seemingly random events of the day, which in retrospect turned out to be synchronicities. All of the events of our lives weave a tapestry of many colors.   The Sacred Journey gave me a chance to unwind, and to think about my life as it was being played out.

I especially liked each month's symbolisms.  I used a set of tarot cards and runes to intuit my spirit's message.  The symbols were a guide to me each month.

All of your entry suggestions:  (blessings, strengths, opportunities, goals, gifts, highlights, insights, and important dates like the winter solstice) were wonderful nudges to help my soul awaken... and find the expression it yearned for.  

I am a composer and writer.   This past year I have been working on many projects:  a mystical, musical theater piece about forgiveness and redemption; a movie screenplay about hope over despair;  inspirational stories and music about animals and birds.  Your journal has helped me be able to work on all these projects with more clarity and a fresh approach.  I really appreciate the  guidance I receive from the joural. Thank you for making this wonderful tool available for all of us... to help our consciousness expand, become more empowered, and to find and follow the purpose we came here to acheive.

I just wanted to say that I have been a fan of your journal for many years now... I have them stored in my memory trunk  
 
This coming year however I was attempting to discover a new journal, reasons being, I've had bad health ( rheumatoid arthritis since I was 21, now 43 and my journal has chronicled the pain associated with this and the challenges I've faced with various bionic parts installed and a stroke in 99, when I had the company of fairies for quite a few months... yes they were as real to me as my nose in front of my face, and although I lost my speech an basic comprehension I thank them everyday for the healing and company they gave me. I have to note I am totally healed now. 
 
I am an extremely positive person, but it upset me to see such sadness within my journal, even thought of disposing them, but realized that I'd survived all this and this indeed was my story of coming through the other side. So yes, I have ordered my copy for 2009 and I am looking forward to exploring my next chapter with relish as I know 2009 is going to be a fabulous, magical year, with maybe a bit of fairy dust sprinkled around for good measure

I have used the Sacred Journey since 2003 and have learned a great deal since then. Some days the words flow other days only a couple of lines which is ok. The main thing is the journey of self discovery is ongoing and the sacred journey, whislt being spiritual is an excellent tool for self awareness!!

I was going through (and still am) a bit of a 'purpose' crisis in October, driving my boyfriend crazy, which caused him to buy this journal for me! It was a beautiful gift and I use it every day. I'm completely new to the idea of symbols and the concept of 'credo' but I decided to just go with it. I created my own symbols (I decided on five for the year, so I could bear them all in mind without overdoing it) drawing:

open hands - compassion and generosity
a perfect circle - strength and courage
a butterfly- joy and appreciation
a treble clef- perseverance
white clouds in a blue sky - peace

I find great catharsis in writing out all my thoughts and worries, just getting them off my chest and onto paper helps me to see them more clearly and resolve them more objectively. With my birthday in two days, I'm looking forward to using the birthday page!

I am having a bit of a hard time wondering on the use of symbols with my sacred journey. How do I incorporate them? What are they good for? I use the card a day method and record that daily, but how do i go about choosing my cards for the whole year??

By the way, This is my first year using the Sacred Journey and so far, I love it. I am not big on journalling, but this makes it very easy and fun. I bought is a gift for a friend who is going through the process of self discovery, and had to pick it up for myself as well. We both love it.

I found the morning pages stated in the Artist's way, very tedious, boring and stressful. Would you want to do 3 A4 size pages every single morning. I found "The Sacred Journey" Journal 2 years ago at a bookstore in Cassadega, FL. It was recommened to me by a medium who had just given me a reading. Hi- Over the last year I have started to journal and at the end of last year a good friend of mine saw The Sacred Journal and bought it for me. She had no idea what it was and thought that it was "just a diary"! She gave it to me and as it was sealed closed I put it away until New Years Day. I had never heard of it before. So on New Years morning I sat in my bed and opened the Journal, needless to say I spent many hours reading through it. Luckily we were planning to have a quiet day! I loved it! I stumbled upon the Sacred Journey Journal in my local Waterstones book shop at the end of 2005, and so bought the 2006 copy, vowing to commit to writing in it everyday. I have bought journals before but always ceased writing in them after a couple of months. This journal however was different. Due to the fantastic way it is compiled I found that writing in it was a wonderful evolving journey of discovery. At each equinox and solstice I have done the spiral reading and found the insights I have gained to be extremely helpful and accurate. I have had more than a few 'lightbulb' moments! I have also used the blank pages for creative collages which have helped me to gain a new perspective on certain issues in my life. Guess what? I continued to write in the Journal all year, and was so pleased at the end of the year to have a record of my growth and evolution. I discovered 'The Sacred Journey' whilst shopping a few weeks before christmas with my husband. And after the year we had just had money being almost non existent, and three children to buy presents for, I said to my husband I know we cant afford presents this year but please can I just have this journal - it is all I want for christmas and nothing else matters. I later mentioned to my best friend that no matter what I had to get one of these journals as it just seemed so apt for me right now in my life and it was exactly what I was looking for although I didnt even know it existed! Knowing me so well she said you better not buy it yourself as someone will buy it for you - meaning either my husband or herself. Great I thought!

A few days before christmas no more had been mentioned and my husband hadnt had any money so I knew he didnt have it already i returned to the stall in the shopping mall and couldnt see any on the shelf, so asked the gentleman who in return told me they had sold out. I was so upset and so despertely wanted it and didnt know where else to go. Christmas came and went and I was very poorly and didnt think of it till the day before new years eve. My best friend came over to have a buffet and celebrate the day we all missed due to being poorly.

It came up in conversation and my husband said he thought my friend was buying it and vice versa so no one briought it, but he had seen it in another town on christmas eve. my best friend got me straight in the car and drove me there and we put our pennies together and ran into the shopping mall where again the gentleman said he had sold out. I asked him if there was anyway in the world he could get me a copy and he said well I cant promise but Im alsmost positive there is a damaged copy in the stock room and if you can come back in half an hour I will go and get it for you. I said the damage didnt matter and I would take it regardless as it would be authentic and just simply magic to have one. Sure enough he produced a copy with only the back missing! Ecstatic! I've know started my journal and the beginning of my new life! Thankyou so much xxx

I found one of the last journals at a chapters in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I showed it to a friend and she was so taken with it that I spent most of January 3 trying to find another. I still don't believe I found the last one to be had in the city on a discount table at the only other chapters in our area. I guess she was meant to have one. We spent the day today pulling card from our favourite decks for the twelve months of the year. We made it part of our usual yearly ritual and readings for the coming year. We both use the Goddess card and pulled one card as symbol for each month. We also use the Revelation Tarrot and pulled twelve cards from that as well... awesome results.

Have to admit I'm disappointed that the 2007 is sold out, but not surprised!! I have searched several bookstores in town, and they have had trouble getting it. I will contact your publisher, and will try to doctor up a generic journal/calendar for use in the meantime.

I loved using The Sacred Journey this past year. I don't think I would have come to several realizations without its unique format. Thank you.

I discovered this journal in Borders (Glasgow) I soon as I saw it I knew this was what i have been looking for, it will guide me and help choose the correct path. Not sure what to do exactly with choice of symbolism. I do not want to choose just anything and although have tarot cards i do not want to use - I have fairy oracle cards which I think may more suited to me as I love fairies - the images conjure up different thoughts and feelings, shall i just choose 12 cards from this that i feel will be best attributed to each month? How will i use this? Or should i mix and match the 12 art deco symbols at bottom of page? So many questions and yet so excited... it is only 1 hur into 2007 and I itching to write in my new special journal but feel scared as once pen touches it may be spoilt.... (oh I showed my mum this journal and she wanted one for her xmas - so she has one too!)

i am sure at this time of year that you get an influx of emails from people who have received the sacred journey as a christmas gift. i am one of the many, very eager to start writing.

i don’t think the person who has given me the gift realises how perfect it was. There are so many thoughts, feelings that i have kept to myself, not knowing how to express what it is.

currently i am very disaatisfied with life and i am unsure as to my reasons why. i have a great family, good friends, an AMAZING mother yet, i feel empty. i need something to put all these amazing things into perspective in front of me. sometimes the hang ups you have have been there for so long, there are so many of them that you cannot see they are there, then you learn to live with them.

i don’t believe in religion but what i do believe is that there is a balance, for every bit of good, there is a bit of bad.

this may have sounded like a confusing message, but its what came out. i hope to keep in touch as my journal progresses although i think i have been writing what's needed to go in it for the past four years...

I have had this journal lying around for a few months now. I saw it in September and forgot about it when I went away to DC on a 3 month Business Trip. I love this journal. I have always had trouble journaling. My desire was true but my persistance, well left much to be desired. I stumbled onto this book in Nov. 2004, I had never seen it before or heard of it but I was so drawn to it. I could hardly wait to start. I was distressed when I looked for 2006, all year where I first bought 2005 and could never find it. So I'm ordering it from a bookstore. That way they pay shipping. I did not know when I bought 2005 in Nov. 2004 that one month later I would lose my Dad. I was taking care of him in my home when he passed quietly from this life to the next. Needless to say, this was a devastating blow for me. This journal, though I spent much time mourning and ill for the next 6 months, kept me going. I'm still mourning and somehow I think I always will on some level or other. Learning to say Goodbye and letting go is much harder than I ever expected but is necessary. One of my closest friends, Chris, bought me the 2005 version for Christmas. I don't usually write in a diary or make entries in a journal on a regular basis, and didn't pick it up until half way through January. It was then that I realized what a lovely gift it is. I felt very calm as I was reading the introduction and then I began writing in it. I have made a conscious effort to only write positive things in my journal. I have a habit of concentrating on negative thoughts and dwelling on them, and so to now have a book which records the positive, lovely stuff in my life is wonderful. I came across The Sacred Journey in October 2003, I had been looking for a birthday gift for a very dear friend (who has everything)and for whom it was proving difficult to choose a present. Like all my other teachers, this book entered my life in a very quiet way. What began as a dream for many years has finally become a reality for me. In November 2000 I began my studies to become a massage therapist; something that I have talked about doing for years. I found a school that would let me take my time and progress at my own speed, which was a blessing because it allowed me the time I needed to define my path. After two years of taking classes-extra classes as well-and working extra hours in the student clinic, I decided it was time to finally finish the last assignment that was keeping me from graduating. When I found "The Sacred Journey" in January 2003, I was struggling with whether I had truly made the right decision or not. Just doing the opening exercises helped me to know and clarify that yes, I am on the right path. And, after doing the Pathway and Butterfly Spreads, I picked my annual symbol-the Butterfly: for transformation-and that has become the symbol for my new business, which I opened in September. Although I have not been consistently writing in the journal, I have picked it up again because I know it is a wonderful way to bring clarity and help me sort out the ins and outs of my life. I went looking for a date book to keep dates for a couple of organizations to which I belong. I didn't find the one I used last year and had the choices narrowed down to two, but neither one felt like I wanted to leave it behind. Then the young lady in the store showed me the Sacred Journey in an area of the store I hadn't looked (they keep it with journals rather than calendars). I looked it over and left the other two and bought the Sacred Journey! (Later on, I did purchase one of the others for keeping the organization dates--Sacred Journal is for PERSONAL use!) I am grateful for Cheryl's kindness! I have been using the Sacred Journey Journal's for 2 years. I carry it with me everywhere and place all my thoughts, dreams, responsibilities and life information into it. This journal has helped me become an organized being, finally. Unfortunately a few months ago, my roommate tossed out my journal, which was in a bag. I reacted very emotionally to the loss of my journal. During my stay in California in 1998/99 I found the “Sacred Journey Journal” at Mothers Market in Irvine. I loved it’s natural style and so it just caught my attention. I just had to have it - without actually knowing what (incredible journal) I bought! And, yes … I started journaling and it has become my companion since then. At first I was having problems to fill the weeks, sometimes I didn’t even write for months and now – oh well, I wish I would have more room to put my thinking into inking – smile! I wrote down my thoughts, my dreams, my feelings that often used to confuse me. I cannot express how grateful I am to have found this journal/datebook. The last year and a half has been really hard for me -- I've been on disability and have had 5 surgeries so far with one more to go. My clinical depression has .... blossomed beyond my wildest dreams. (No sarcasm there, aye?) My days run together and sometimes I get panic attacks at the thought of leaving my front door. This journal has saved me more than once. I keep a running short-hand of what happens each day, which helps me to separate the days from each other. The only suggestion I would make for future editions would be a few blank or lined pages in the back for notes, etc. Thank you again.

My Sacred Journey Diary is my reminder of my own journey. Not that of my friends, or my partner, or my family, but my very own unique path. But my Sacred Journey journal is the highest and most honoured of them all, I keep if for divine reflection and remembering my inner self, my guides, my path and my place in the universe.

I discovered your daily journal in kindred spirit magazine and knew straight away it was for me. I was given my journal for christmas, and i must say I love it! I get great enjoyment writing things down in it. I used to keep diaries as a young girl, but they were never big enough for all I wanted to say! I also use it as a kind of dream journal, I write them down so I can remember them! I feel so attached to this book already, and it is already benefiting me - I can see how I am progressing, already, and it is SO inspirational! I found The Sacred Journey at Vroman's, an independent bookstore in Pasadena. After reading the back cover (it was shrink wrapped) I quickly bought it even though I have little money. I am a 16 year old foreign exchange student who is from the place indicated above and am now living in Germany for one year. I received the Sacred Journey journal as a Christmas present from my mom yesterday. Being a foreign exchange student isn't always the easiest thing despite how much you learn from it in the end, and I had been feeling very strongly in the past months that what my life goals are were not being fulfilled. My mom sent me this journal to help me in finding and taking hold of the things that I really want to make of my life. The minute I unwrapped this I had a good feeling about it. My first journal was the one in 1997. It has been the primary recording tool of my life, particulary of my writing career. I have tried to include most of the senses in it's pages, dropping oil or candlewax or perfume for scent, feathers (or right now my cat is dropping hair on it) for texture. I love the book even though I practice tarot instead of the Sacred Path cards. And I am very pleased to say that this year, after 8 years of writing, I have included the many thrills of having my book purchased by Berkley. Thanks for the one spot where I can keep notes on how wonderful this year has been--notes of talks with my editor, the first cover art, the good reviews... It will be a treasure for me for the rest of my life.
